What to Expect at Care Groups

Fellowship

The goal of Care Groups is to challenge one another to grow and apply to our lives what we learn of God’s will and character through His word. Fellowship is not social time, nor is it Bible study. It is growth in relationships among God’s people as they learn to worship and depend upon Him. We will study the Bible in Care Groups, but our goal is not another folder of notes on our shelf, but rather the application to our lives of what we so often already know but are struggling to apply. This is a wonderful way to see the Body of Christ at work. When there is a need, the Care Group is the first to be able to step in and help. This helps the whole body to grow through participation in ministries of care and mercy for those in need, as well as lifestyle evangelism. The purpose of Care Groups is to apply God's Word and develop relationships for the purpose of maturity, service, and outreach.

Relationship

Care Groups will generally consist of 10-20 adults. Care Group composition will vary from time to time. Sometimes they will be divided up by geography, while at other times, they will be divided up by a specific type of group, such as young married or seminary students. In general, we want to encourage people in the church to get to know one another, so the Care Groups will be changed at least once per year.

Time

Care Group meetings are generally on Wednesday evenings, but there are other meetings throughout the week. Please feel free to visit one of our care groups.
